3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
This passage of scripture is a wonderful picture of showing us how we must handle the Word of God. If we just look at the surface of the Word we will miss the beauty of the inner depths of truth to be revealed to us. I would like to describe four levels, as revealed in this passage, by which we can use to preach and teach the Word of the Lord.
Notice that in verse one the heavens and the earth are being requested to hear what is being said. We must understand that as anointed vessels, the words that we speak are impacting both in the natural as well as in the spiritual realm.
Heb 12:1 ¶ Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,Who is the the bird of the air? We know that it is the enemy as depicted in
Ec 10:20 Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.
Mt 13:4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
Mt 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
So we can see that heavenly places hear our words and actions as well as what is spoken to us.
There is power in the spoken Word of God. This is why the enemy works so hard to shut down the truly anointed and those who have true Kingdom Authority. It is the only weapon that the believer has to bring real change into the Earth Realm.
Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
What are we to be releasing into the Heavens and the Earth? DOCTRINE.
Doctrine- something received, instruction, whether on the part of the teacher or hearer, to take, carry away; to attract or gain over the heart by eloquence or persuasive speech.
There are different levels of release of doctrine as described in Deuteronomy 32:2. They are:
- Rain
- Dew
- Small Rain
- Showers
1. RAIN- My doctrine shall drop as the rain. Even as the rain begins slowly drop by drop I shall pour out until the fullness of the revelation comes. Until there is a full release of this doctrine that I carry, it shall pour out drop by drop.
Dew-My speech shall distill as the dew.
2. Dew- a. Water droplets condensed from the air, usually at night, onto cool surfaces from water vapor in the air.
b. Something moist, fresh, pure, or renewing:
Distill- means to drip or trickle. This is a soft release and is gentler than the rain. Here is a description of being gentle with revelation. A picture of giving out silently in a way that refreshes without being overwhelming. Dew only clings to cool surfaces in the night hour. It shows a picture of those who may be getting cold in the things of the Lord who need refreshing. Many times people are stuck in their journey and just need to be refreshed while they are getting on course with God.
3. Small Rain- as the small rain upon the tender herb.
Tender Herbs- are sprouts. New converts.
The small rain is a tempestuous storm. At times it will be necessary to display the Sovereignty and the Authority of God even upon those who are young as to bring the fear of the Lord.
4. Showers- as the showers upon the grass. Showers speaks of an accumulation of drops of water. A full weightiness of the revelation pouring out on the people. At this point there is no holding back. Ready or not here it comes. Even as the Heavens release the water in the clouds even now I must speak the fullness of truth.
Some say that this is a culminating even to the point of the revelation bringing wrath even as the spoken Word brought the curses upon Egypt.
Dt. 32:3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
AS we go forth proclaiming the Gospel, let us use discernment to determine at what level we are to release the Word of the Lord
In His Service,
Apostle Jesse
