The Piercing of Sorrows

Presumption becomes a destructive tool for the enemy to use when it is camouflaged as permission or faith.

Many well meaning saints fail the discernment test and then blame God for them falling or failing.

The enemy knows how to pull on lust.
The enemy knows how to pull on ambition.
The enemy knows how to pull on pride.
The enemy knows how to pull on our insecurities.
The enemy knows how to pull on our desires.

Even though we say we desire to serve the Lord, that part of us that has not died still desires to serve itself.

It is that uncrucified part of us where the enemy places his demonic seed.

A little lie disguised as the voice of God or even the voice of reason to feed our ego to get us off course. There we go chasing decption.

The Word says in
1 Timothy 6:10 (KJV)
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Notice
1. The Love of money is a root of all evil.
2. They coveted it.
3. Those who love it err from the FAITH
4. They PIERCE THEMSELVES THROUGH with MANY SORROWS.

Their own ungodly love and desire caused them to pursue someone or something for money .
It created their own destruction and pain.

LEVIATHAN is known as that crooked, twisting PIERCING SERPENT that is the king of the children of pride.

Pride pierces others around it, yet in the end it really hurts ones own self.

It is a self destructive force that hinders, quenches, grieves, strives and fights against the Holy Spirit.

Selfish ambition, wrong motives, perversion, twisted doctrine, doctrines of devils, lying spirits, familiar spirits, lust all serve as doors to create a presumptive belief system.

Instead of changing to line up with the Word one relegates and equates God onto their level of understanding to justify wrong doing.

It is this level of presumption that ties in with self justification that puts misguided faith into action.

We will give way to ungodly desires, wants, lusts etc ... believing God is ok with it and understands.

Here is an example.
During the time of battles David did not go out but stayed in Jerusalem.
 2 Samuel 11.

He saw Bathsheba and lusted and coveted after her.

David sinned against the Lord with Bathsheba.
He had her husband Uriah killed.

In this process she conceived a child.

After the prophet Nathan exposed David, he repented.

Yet this did not mean all was going to now be roses. There were repercussions for Davids actions.

Even though Nathan tells David his sins were forgiven and he would not die vs 13 .... there were strong judgments.

The Lord would raise up evil against David.
The Lord would take away his wives and give them away.
The sword would never leave his house.

It is judgment on what had been created from murder, lust, and covetousness.

2 Samuel 12:14  Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

Our obedience is a buffet to the rebellion in others.Especially when we have years of steadfast character.
When we disobey it opens the door of accusation against us and causes open blaspeme from the God haters towards God.
It is used as a reason why they do not believe, serve or obey.

Romans 2:23-25

One aspect of the word blaspeme means to cause the Name if the Lord to come to no affect.
Meaning we can say one thing but how we live says another.
This causes unbelief in others which in turn creates blaspeme.

At the Word of the Lord through Nathan the child was struck with sickness

For seven days David pleaded to the Lord and fasted to no avail.

God was using this situation through David to show the repercussions of sin.
Even though you did this privately I am making this an open matter to put fear and reverance into the hearts of man.

12  For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

After the child died (a son)
David worked to reposition himself with the Lord.

2 Samuel 12:20  Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.

He came to his senses. He knew he had to come into alignment.
Psalm 51

He some how got out of place yet he knew he was going to still have to love the LORD even with these now implented judgments.

What are we pursuing?

Do we have presumpive faith to believe everything will just be ok because we want someone or something?

Do we believe God will not see?

Do we believe He will make exceptions just for us?

Do we think a particular scripture applies to everyone else but us?

David pierced himself with many sorrows.

David had been given so many things.
1 Samuel 12:7  And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;
8  And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.
9  Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight?

No one gets exceptions or a pass when they sin against the Lord.

NO ONE!

God would have given David even more had he not sinned.

What has God given us?

What more could He give us if we stay humble, faithful and obedient?

Do not be presumptious saints!

Hold on to

1.Loving the Lord,
2.Worship
3.Holiness
4.Righteousness
5.His Word!

The Lord has more for us if we do not compromise.

In His Love,
