Sell Out or Sold Out

Heb 12:16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

Sell out-  a person who betrays a cause, organization, priciples, for personal advantage or gain, a traitor.

Sold out- Having been totally sold to the point that there is no supply or stock left.
The words of the Lord are this " Joh 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me "
Yeshua / Jesus was totally sold out to the point that when Satan tempted Him in the wilderness that He did not bow down. There was nothing in the Lord that Satan could get the advantage. Yeshua was sold out.
On the other hand when Judas saw an opportunity to gain personally, he became a sell out.

The Bible is full of individuals who went past covenants and commitments to gain but lost their souls in the process. Esau, Achan, Absolom, Adonijah, Gehazi, and Judas are but a few of a long list of people who found momentary pleasure to be more important than eternal riches.

The Bible says of Moses though Heb 11:25
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

When a person goes to the store and wants to purchase something, they go to the aisle and look on the shelf. When the product is not there, no exchange can be made for the product. This is how it needs to be when Satan comes and checks our heart. This would be being sold out.

In regards to Judas the scripture says
John 13:27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
Of Ananias
Ac 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

In 2 Kings 5 We read the account of Elisha the prophet who is now the head of the sons of the prophets or school of prophets with his servant Gehazi. Elisha is speaking to Naaman king of Syria and giving instructions on what he must do to be healed. As Naaman does what was bidden by the prophet he is totally healed. In response to this he offers reward to the prophet, but the prophet refuses.
2Ki 5:16 But he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.
On the other hand though Gehazi chases after him and tells Naaman he is sent by his master and proceeds to use the sons of the prophets as leverage to gain for himself. He pretended to be sent and lied about who it was for. 2 Kings5:25 says that Gehazi stored the items away that Naaman had given him. When Gehazi stands before his master Elisha he is confronted. Gehazi lies again by telling Elisha
2Ki 5:25 But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither.
( I went nowhere ) What a true statement! This kind of behaviour will cause one to go nowhere spiritually.

It was important that Naaman knew that it was the Lord God of Israel that had healed him and not the prophet. Balaam had been contracted by Balak to try and curse Israel in Numbers 22. I personally believe Elisha made a distinct separation by not receiving from Naaman to let him know it was YHWH who had healed him.

When Gehazi is confronted he hears these words from Elisha
2Ki 5:26 And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?
27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.

Is there anything worth our soul and relationship with Christ? NO!

Pr 23:1 When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:
2 And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.
3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat.

Are we SOLD OUT or are we SELL OUTS?

The Gift of Identification

There are times in the Body of Christ we can totally miss  the real reason The Father reveals who a person is to us.
He will show authority, gifts, anointings, calling, purpose, glory, and other revelations about a leader to us
When He reveals this to us, how we respond can be what stabilizes us in our walk, causes us to wander more or disqualifies us.

We can desire to be operational so much that we do not connect the dots to show us the whole picture.
We can think that what is being given to us is for the person but it is intended to test us to see if we are ready for the next level of relationship and development.
We can show our immaturity by trying to prophesy to someone who already fully knows who they are. This kind of revelation is meant to prepare us so we can honor the man or woman of God.

We see the story of Christ questioning the Apostles in Matthew 16:13  When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

This question not only revealed who could properly identify Christ but it was also a set up for the next question.

Matthew 16:16 "Who do you say that I am?"

Did Christ need people to help Him understand who He was?
Absolutely not.
Yet, what was needed was for men to identify Him to know who He is so that they may properly honor Him.
The Apostles could not be taught and prepared fully unless they identified Him clearly.

Peter fulfilled this
Matthew 16:16  And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

1. You are the Christ. Denoting I know who you are in authority, assignment, calling, purpose.
2. You are the Son of God. I know where you came from and who gave you your power and authority.
3. Because they saw clearly they knew it mandated a correct response to the Messiah.

This identification of Christ positioned Peter for the proclamation of blessing and set him even more into what he was called to do.

Matthew 16:17  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18  And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it

I meet people all of the time who miss this basic prophetic protocol of identification.

Proper identification of the correct authority is the key that releases true Kingdom proclamtions over our lives.

What the Holy Spirit reveals to us about a leader is to help us get into proper alignment with who they are in the Kingdom.
We cannot properly honor who we cannot identify or discern.
This revelation from the Father is for our benefit and not for the one of whom He is revealing to us.
Ask yourself.
Who is God revealing to you?
What is The Father showing you about them?
Why is He revealing them as leaders to you?
Is it a Divine set up?

Many saw Christ and misidentified Him.
Matthew 16:14  And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

Let us ask The Father to help us properly identify His leaders so we do not even unintentionally dishonor them.

In His Love,
Jesse Griffin
