Lessons in Leadership
Upon entry into Jerusalem, the crowd hailed Jesus shouting Hosanna.
John 12:13 People take palm branches and shout "Hosanna! Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel".
Seven days later they cried, "CRUCIFY HIM"
John 19:10 But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him.
At the mock tribunal, all of the disciples abandoned the Lord.
Mark 14:50 50 And they all forsook him, and fled.
Peter, who was to be the next in authority denied Him.
Jesus told told Peter about his denial in Matthew 36:34
Mat 26:34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say to you, That this night, before the cock crow, you shall deny me thrice.
Peter believed he would never do such a thing.
Matthew 26::35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples
His speech and declaration even moved others to declare the same thing.
Yet, when the pressure hit, they could not stand.
The test strikes hard at them all.
Peter caves in under pressure when He is questioned in verses 71-74
Matthew 26:74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
Mat 26:75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly
People will shift if they do not get what they want from leaders. This was Judas issue, as He wanted a political Messiah to set on the physical throne of Israel.
These kind of shiftings are carnally and demonically inspired..
People will leave if they fear it will cost them something. In this case, their lives.
None the less, Messiah had to stay the course regardless of anyone believing on Him, following Him, or obeying Him.
He had to find Himself obedient to His Heavenly Father although almost everyone left His side.
Individual relationship and obedience to the Father is not predicated upon the praise or the approval of man.
It is determined by the will of God. We must embrace it.
In seasons of great testing it requires great faith and determination to not loose heart.
It is in these kind of moments that the Vision, Word and Voice of the Father must remain alive.in us to encourage us to press on.
Christ fulfilled His call so that we could become who we were created to be.
Had He decided to quit because of the unbelief of people, accusation, mockery and their disobedience, where would we be today?
Jesus prayed for Peter knowing what He would go through was only going to be temporary.
Judas heart was set.
Peter's heart was momentarily influenced.
Christ knew Peter would return and the brethren would need him.
Luke 22:31 The Lord said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have all of you, that he might sift you as wheat,
32 but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers.”
Someone will reap from our obedience and persistence.
Scripture tells us Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Even when we feel like quitting ... DON'T!!!
Find out what to do and do it WELL!!!
WE SHALL REAP WHAT WE SOWED IN TIME.
